About Skreda

What is Skreda?
Skreda is a fishing village located only 7 km from Leknes, the second biggest city at the Lofoten islands in Norway.
This makes it a very relaxing place to stay, and at the same time not too lonely as the city is nearby.

All the cabins and rorbus in Skreda are owned by private persons or companies, and are meant to be used as holiday houses. While some of the cabins are just used by their owners, some are also rented out to the fishing camp located here, or to other people who wants to experience the beautiful Lofoten at a great place to stay. As the guests comes from many different countries, this makes Skreda a pretty international village.

What to do in Skreda or nearby?

  • fishing.
  • mountain trips.
  • go to the beach, kiting, cajaking, diving.
  • skiing (winter time)
  • watching animals (Nises, killer whales, sea eagles) or other living species above or below water.
  • experience sometimes dramatic changes in weather.
  • watching midnight sun and Northern light.
  • shopping.
  • socialise with the other people in Skreda.

What else can you do with Skreda as base?
Skreda is located in the middle part of Lofoten, with many places to go to in several directions, for example:

West: Å, Reine, Ramberg, Njusford and Napp.
South: Ballstad.
East: Henningsvær, Svolvær.

How to get to Skreda/Leknes?
It is possible to get to Skreda/Leknes in many ways, for example:

  • Car to Bognes -> ferry to Lødingen -> car.
    Car to Bodø -> ferry to Moskenes -> car.
  • Train to Bodø -> ferry to Moskenes -> car/bus.
    Train to Bodø -> flight to Leknes.
    Train to Narvik -> car/bus.
  • Flight to Narvik/Harstad (Evenes) -> car/bus.
    Flight to Svolvær -> car/bus.
    Flight to Svolvær -> flight to Leknes.
    Flight to Bodø -> ferry to Moskenes -> car/bus.
    Flight to Bodø -> flight to Leknes.

Tips.
It is highly recommended to rent a car, if not having one with you when coming to Lofoten, as it is so much beautiful to see in Lofoten during the stay.
